Thoughts on the 'non-ai' human led angle of work to come

Do you all think it'll become an advantage at some point for certain types of teams/services to market themselves as 'human led' with zero (or very minimal) use of ai? If so, what type of teams/services might be most successful with that, and why?

I thinnnk this might be inevitable (if it hasn't already started) as ai becomes more obviously unreliable. However, maybe I'm too biased (and/or informed) to be correct. Keep in mind the very loud narrative that 'ai will get better', and also the fact that it won't. There's also people who hate it either way, and some of us who know slop actually causes rework.

What do you all think?

Appetite related synesthesia question...

^(Just found this sub today, and very excited! Hi all : D)

Ok, so I've known for a long time that I have a couple types of synesthesia:

  1. Numbers and letters (sometimes full words) always have their own colours.
  2. Some music triggers specific shapes and colours.

But one thing I've occasionally wondered about is if/how synesthesia might be affecting my appetite. And I'm really really curious to know if anyone can relate to what I'm about to describe. So, here's what happens...

I can be eating my favourite food, really enjoying it, and quite hungry at the time. But even in those circumstances, it's extremely easy for me to suddenly lose my appetite if I hear certain things. And they're really random things like:

• someone saying a specific word, like 'compost'
• people arguing in a sitcom
• hearing mention of a violent act in a podcast
• hearing even just an ad about medical conditions

It's really annoying but it feels like it somehow takes over my imagination or something, and completely ruins the food. Almost as if I'm eating something foul.

Does ANYBODY know what I'm talking about?

^(Yes, this article is paywalled.)

Is it just me, or does it seem weird and unnecessary to create separate new companies just for this? Maybe I'm missing something fundamental, or being overly suspicious... but on the surface this feels like a thinly veiled attempt to detach themselves from building costs and look prettier ahead of IPO.

Also, "forward-deployed engineers" being aggressively recruited to accelerate adoption?? Nooooo😩

How does this dumb ass initiative seem to keeping growing two new heads each time one is chopped off? How many ways are there to keep re-animating this corpse? I'm so bored of it and ready for it to die off already.

Started to notice a pattern around who swallows this bait the hardest, and then yaps the most about how much better life is since they've surrendered to their captor embraced 'ai'. They always gush about it is as though someone is holding a gun to their head and they're desperately trying to sound excited.

I'm not super young, but I'll just say I'm talking people quite a bit older than me who are still in the work force. Something about seeing them so scared and compliant has made me realize (on a whole new level) how predatory and sinister that whole narrative is.

Obviously anyone at any age can fall for it, but something about witnessing older people fall for it breaks my heart. Also just reminds me how many people (of all ages) are living with immense stress and despair EVERY DAY because of this dumbassery.

This sh*t really can't come to an end fast enough.

Discovered and joined this sub around the same time I started a several week long Monday night grief group (which ended tonight). It's been a great way to shift vibes on Monday nights on the way home, so I wanted to say a quick thanks to whoever sees this. Thank you guys for creating what feels like an actual online community + source of sanity, camaraderie, and much needed comic relief.
