My Off Grid Cottage On The Water

My Off Grid Cottage On The Water

Finally got my cottage closed in. Plan to power my cottage with Solar, Wind and a Back up generator. Looking at a new Bluetti battery power system when ready and applying metal siding to detour rodents from chewing through siding. Plans to build a separate garage eventually. Its a small lake that connects to 2 other small lakes.

My 2015 Jeep Wrangler 3.6

Being a first time Jeep Wrangler owner the experience is better than what Jeep Wrangler critics make it out to be. I bought this 2015 Jeep Wrangler Sport JK at 86,000kms for $18,000. I am coming from owning a prior Dodge Ram full size and 5 other prior Ram trucks. The ride is a little more stiff, choppy and rugged but is comfortable. A shorter wheel base plays a part and changes the ride. It being a JK Sport stock the noise level is pretty good and not far from being as quite as my full size prior Dodges. Yes it also helps that I upgraded the sound system which drowns out all the odd road noises which is not much road noise. I am sure there is a lot more road noise with higher Jeep trim levels with bigger tires but I was looking for something more practical for a everyday commuting vehicle and is much cheaper for repairs. I like the Jeep for how simple and basic it is for maintenance verses all the newer higher end trims of todays Jeeps with computers etc. Keeping it stock also prolongs the life and helps it at a advantage plus the price value. Bare bones is even better for some people looking to build from the ground up a stock well maintained Jeep JK. Buying a already modified Jeep you never know what the prior owners did plus how hard the drove the Jeep plus if they ever screwed up on something. I look forward to the experience. Yes it can have its draw backs like fuel consumption and fighting the ride quality sometimes during wind but that's the Jeep experience. Adding this low profile Kicker sub was the best upgrade for the size and its space saving dimensions and freed up the entire back cab. The sound is actually impressive for its size and hooked directly from my stock oem radio. I upgraded the rest of my 8 speaker system with speakers from powerbass.
