Hello! I'm a student in S5 scotland/Y12 England, wanting to apply for Chemical engineering and biotechnology for undergraduate and I'm struggling to pick which subjects I should study for Scottish Advanced Highers (A level equivalent). I've done adv higher maths early this year, and definitely planning on taking Chemistry. Because I go to a music school, taking A-level music is compulsory and I've tried arguing to drop it but I'm not allowed. So, my choice is between taking two subjects out of Physics, english, and mechanics (further maths). I really enjoy English and want to take it but it's not particularly relevant to the course I want to pursue, but I'd technically still meet cambridge's minimum entry requirements. Hypothetically, assuming my ESAT score is pretty high and that id be predicted A1s, would I realistically get into the uni if I just take Physics, chem and English? And how much would taking mechanics make a difference to my application?
Additionally, I've been offered a 5-day work experience placement at the Leonardo company in September as a supercurricular and have a few gold awards/distinction in UKMT girls olympiad.
Any advice would be hugely appreciated!
