Note: I run the XREAL Unofficial Guide site. I decided to post the INAIR Pod root guide there because it gives me more freedom to arrange things the way I want and more space to include details.

Most of the stuff on my site that isn’t specifically for XREAL, such as some guides in the Table of Contents on the main page and most accessories on the XREAL Accessories page, should work with your glasses as well.

The link also includes individual firmware files in case you mess something up.

Warning: I am not responsible for any damage to your device. Rooting is risky, so proceed at your own risk. Rooting voids your warranty, and the warranty does not cover rooted devices.

>To the INAIR Team: I believe rooting the INAIR Pod can add a lot of benefits for users who want more control over their device. Skilled users may be able to help others modify the INAIR Pod in ways that better fit their needs.

>I hope you are okay with me sharing this. I’m also hoping more skilled users come up with ways to make the INAIR Pod experience even better, on top of the great software updates you continue to provide.

Hello all!

I just found out from u/noob1269’s Tech Check 13 YouTube channel that you can change the four apps on the right side of the main UI in INAIR OS.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WiTZuygrlY

Didn’t realize this whole time since the v3.5 update that this is how you control which four apps show up there...lol

Simply move your top four apps to the first row on the second page (after the main home screen) in the order you want them to appear. They’ll show up on the right side of the main home page in that same order.

>Note: This guide is a little different from my previous guide titled Easily Search and Launch Apps on Your INAIR Pod.” That method used a Tasker profile to launch Easy Drawer by shaking the INAIR Pod. While it worked, it also triggered cursor recalibration. I didn’t mind that since you could still recalibrate manually using the swipe up and hold gesture on the INAIR Pod’s touch screen. After a few firmware updates to INAIR OS, the Tasker shake action for launching Easy Drawer became unreliable.

This guide also doesn’t require installing Tasker or setting up ADB permissions like in the previous guide. In that guide, ADB permissions were mainly used so you could set up future automations without running into missing permission issues.

This updated guide also includes an additional app I didn’t mention before, DynamicG Popup Launcher.

With INAIR OS version 3.5, the system added the ability to rearrange apps on the main UI and manage the dock in multi-window mode. INAIR AI was also improved as well, making it easier to launch apps like Easy Drawer at any time by pressing and holding the home button to activate INAIR AI and saying “open Easy Drawer.”

Because of these changes, this method is now more reliable and easier to use overall.

Note: For some reason, the video appears shaky when uploaded to Reddit. The actual video is more stable than what’s shown.

>What this does: Basically, you download the apps mentioned (linked below) from the Google Play Store, place them on the second page (after the main home screen) for easy access (also useful in single-window mode since there’s no dock like in multi-window mode), and add them to the dock that appears at the bottom when you open an app in multi-window mode so they’re always available.

You can also quickly launch “Easy Drawer” using INAIR AI by pressing and holding the home button on the INAIR Pod and saying “open Easy Drawer.” It’s easier for the AI to recognize the name “Easy Drawer” compared to the other app names.

Downloads (Google Play Store):
Easy Drawer (keyboard search):

  • Large on-screen keyboard interface
  • Search apps by typing their name
  • Apps appear instantly as you type
  • Option to pin favorite apps above the keyboard
  • Can auto-close after launching an app

JINA Drawer (vertical scrolling):

  • Traditional app drawer with grid layout
  • Vertical scrolling app list
  • A–Z fast scroll bar on the right side
  • Supports folders and pinned apps/app shortcuts at the top for quick access
  • Does not auto-close after launching an app

Warning: If you open apps through JINA Drawer, it will remain open in the background. In single-window mode, it stays behind the current app. In multi-window mode, it remains open as its own window. If you’re in single-window mode, you can ask INAIR AI to “close all apps,” then relaunch JINA Drawer to open a different app.

DynamicG Popup Launcher (tabs with favorites/shortcuts):

  • Pop-up style launcher with up to 6 tabs
  • Each tab can hold apps or shortcuts
  • Designed for organizing favorites into grouped tabs
  • Automatically closes after launching an app
  • Auto-close behavior cannot be changed

You have two ways to add apps to the INAIR dock so they stay visible no matter what app you open:

  • Option 1: On the main UI, go to the page where the apps are installed. Press and hold the app icon until a menu appears next to it. Select “Add to Dock.” After it’s added, you can move it to your preferred position on the dock.
  • Option 2: When you open one of the apps, look at the dock. You’ll see the app icon on the far right side after the separator line. Press and hold the icon until an “Add” option appears below the app icon. Tap “Add” to move it to the left side of the separator, indicating it is now pinned to the dock. Then you can rearrange it to your preferred position.

I prefer placing the drawer apps somewhere in the middle of the dock.

Setting Up Easy Drawer & JINA Drawer

Step 1: Install Easy Drawer and JINA Drawer from the Play Store.
Step 2: Open Easy Drawer and tap the settings icon on the left side of the keyboard.
Step 3: Under Appearance, choose a darker theme so the INAIR cursor is easier to see.
Step 4: In the Theme Engine section, apply Pitch Black.
Step 5: Under the main General section, enable Search Mode if you want continuous typing instead of single-character searches. Basically, this means that as you keep typing letters on the on-screen keyboard, the results will narrow down to the specific app you’re looking for. If disabled, each key press will jump to the next app that starts with that letter instead of narrowing the results.
Step 6: Scroll down and enable Auto-Close Easy Drawer.
Step 7: Next, scroll to Favorite Apps and add any apps you want to appear above the keyboard.

Note: There are two ways to add favorite apps in Easy Drawer:

  • While searching, type a letter to bring up matching apps. Press and hold an app icon, then tap “Add to favorites” to add it.
  • Or, use the method in Step 7 by going to Easy Drawer’s settings (bottom-left of the keyboard), scrolling to Favorite Apps, and adding multiple apps at once. This is usually easier if you want to add several favorites without searching one by one.

Now, when you open Easy Drawer as shown in the image above, you can type to filter apps or tap your favorites.

Above image shows the JINA Drawer app.

Warning: If you change any settings in the INAIR Me app, make sure to take a screenshot of the default settings before making changes. I couldn’t find an option to reset everything back to factory defaults if something gets misconfigured.

Setting Up DynamicG Popup Launcher

Note: This app appears as “Popup Launcher” in your app list.

Step 1: Install DynamicG Popup Launcher from the Google Play Store.
Step 2: Open the app and tap the menu icon on the far right of the pop-up launcher to access settings.
Step 3: You should be on the Layout tab by default. Adjust the layout, label size, and icon settings to your preference.
Step 3A: Tap the down arrow on the far right under the Theme section to expand additional settings.
Step 3B: Tap the settings/gear icon under the first theme (black square), then choose Color and set it to Black (#000000) if you want a true black theme.
Step 4: Tap the Tabs tab at the top. Adjust the number of tabs, layout, and other options to your preference.
Step 4A: Edit the tab labels to something memorable for the categories of apps or shortcuts you plan to add. The default labels are T1, T2, T3, etc.
Step 5: Save your settings. Everything should now be set up the way you want.
