In my last post, some of you experienced keepers pointed out that the ventilation was a bit too low and sparse. I took that feedback to heart, went back to Onshape, and here is the result.

The V2 Evolution:

Higher & Better Airflow: I’ve significantly increased the number of ventilation ports on the side walls and raised them higher. This prevents our little 'interior decorators' from blocking the airflow when they decide to rearrange their substrate.

The 'Big Brother' Edition: Since one of my B. hamorii slings outgrew its old home, I engineered a larger 10x10cm mansion for it.

Seamless Aesthetics: The new internal rail system for the acrylic hides any rough edges, giving it a flush, factory finish.

Honestly, seeing them both on the shelf looks so much more 'sexy' than a row of old deli cups or condiment containers. Aesthetics meet engineering. 😆🕷️

Hey everyone!

Re-uploading under my official account. I’m a keeper and designer focusing on safe, high-quality enclosures specifically for terrestrial slings (1-3cm).

I've spent the last few hours reading your feedback on the previous post, and I'm already implementing changes for V2 in Onshape:

Ventilation Overhaul: Side vents are being moved higher to stay well above the substrate line and I’m increasing the hole density for better cross-airflow.

Security First: The enclosure features a secure magnetic lid—no escapes, no accidental openings.

Fully Modular Kit: Everything is designed for easy maintenance. The kit includes a loose hide and a separate water dish. Nothing is fixed, so you can move everything for easy cleaning and to accommodate your sling's burrowing.

The Design Philosophy:

Unlike standard all-clear acrylic boxes, my design features three solid (non-transparent) walls. I believe this provides the sling with a much greater sense of security and reduces stress, while still allowing a perfect view through the front plexiglass.

I’d love your final input:

Do you agree that 3 solid walls provide a better sense of security for terrestrial slings compared to fully transparent enclosures?

For your terrestrial species, what’s the one thing current enclosures always get wrong?

How much substrate depth are you usually looking for in a 1-3cm sling setup?

Printed with PETG on a Bambu Lab A1 mini for maximum durability. Let’s get this right! 🫡

P.S. To clarify, I am NOT here to sell anything. I am an engineer and a hobbyist seeking technical feedback and opinions from experienced keepers to improve the design for the safety of the animals. This is purely a community-driven R&D project.
