Why Some Companies Dominate AI Search Without Ranking #1?
Lately I’ve been noticing that some companies seem to show up in AI answers everywhere, even when they’re not ranking #1 on Google.
It feels like AI visibility is becoming something different from traditional SEO. Ranking still matters, but it also seems like AI systems pay attention to how often a brand is talked about, referenced, and trusted across the web.
Platforms like Reddit, LinkedIn, podcasts, reviews, and PR mentions seem like they might matter more now than people realize.
Some questions I keep thinking about:
- do brands mentioned often on Reddit or LinkedIn appear more in AI-generated answers?
- how much do PR mentions influence AI visibility?
