Embarrassing SG-1 newb question
I’m not a sci-fi (or fantasy) newbie by any means. I’m a Star Trek fan since TOS first aired and a fan of Star Wars since day one on Tatooine. I am also a certified Browncoat, and in the age of AI, have what I feel is a healthy fear of Cylons. But somehow, I only now am getting around to the Stargate franchise. I’m a couple of episodes away from finishing Season 10, before jumping into Stargate Atlantis.
So, my question is this, because I haven’t talked about the show with other fans yet: Everybody knows that this show is a total laugh riot, right? Maybe not as over the top as Galaxy Quest, but with a bit less camp, nearly as funny imho as Xena and Hercules used to be. The last couple of seasons aren’t perhaps as funny, but it’s an open secret that they played a lot of it for laughs, right? ((Examples: O’Neill’s quippiness, Carter’s technobabble, Daniel’s dithering and nerdiness, and the best of all, Teal’c’s single-brow lift as he deeply intones, “Indeed.”)
Thanks
