Caffeine was my main trigger

I believe i’m early in recovery mode now that i quit caffeine.

It took me so long to discern and accept this, that irritation became the norm in my gut for months/years. Given how long this irritation persevered, it started my SIBO symptoms, eventually destroying my gut’s ability to process complex carbs and sugars. My SIBO was confirmed by a breath test, and the destruction of my gut’s abilities were confirmed by an endoscopy.

So now I’m pursuing the disaccharide diet, taking artichoke supplements prior to eating to speed up my motility and SporeBiotic prebiotics afterward to gradually support the healing of my gut microbiome.

I think next week I’ll try introducing kefir into my daily routine in hope that the dairy would process smoothly while aiding my biome further.

For the longest time I thought I was sensitive to coffee’s acidity but recently trying a decaf coffee confirmed that it really was the caffeine all along. I’ve tested almost every single form of caffeine - from tea’s to powders but it always resulted in the same bloating. Recently tried a matcha and ended up recovering from the irritation for another 5 days.
