For context, I am an hourly esthetician at a dermatology group and my pay structure is 26 hourly rate + 5% commission gross sales. Consumables for a specific newer procedure with higher consumable rate are now being backed out of my calculated commission and this was just enforced casually. Is this valid/legal? I am in NYS. I’m also hoping for some salary transparency as this is my first job in the field. I’m not sure if this is an average rate. I’m getting the vibe I’m taken advantage of?
