Am I overreacting or was this disrespectful? Need advice
About a year ago, I cut off a girl because she used to insult me a lot. Around the same time, I was also going through a breakup, and she (and others in that group) would make personal comments like “now we know why your ex left you.”
We haven’t spoken since.
Recently, she met my flatmate (they only know each other through me) and started talking badly about me again saying things like “how can someone be friends with her” and “you’d go crazy living with her.”
What hurt more is that my flatmate didn’t stand up for me. She just listened, laughed, and later told me about it like it wasn’t a big deal. When I said I felt hurt, she said she didn’t want to get into bad terms with that girl.
For context, I’m much closer to my flatmate than she is to her.
I chose not to confront the girl because it would just create more drama, but I still feel really disrespected especially by my flatmate.
Am I overreacting? What would you do in my place?
