Bramptons population is ageing, but do we have the facilities to handle that?

Yes, we have old folk's homes and retirement friendly communities, but are we seriously able to handle the inevitable ageing of our population?

I never want to remove people from their homes, but we don't even have the condo space to settle them.

What are some other options that we could consider? Especially in the information age where people can get push button entertainment.

We want to be civil and humane, but also realistic. I know I can't maintain my house forever, and my family is remarkably uninterested in learning how to build, plan, and construct things. Give it 20 years, and if I'm still breathing, I'll not want to live in a decaying household that I can no longer afford - but I don't want to be stuck in an apartment either.

The Brampton Civic hospital P3 arrangement expires in 2032. What do you think happens next?

Are businesses going to be lining up to keep their services at the hospital?

Will the government consolidate?

Or do you think there will be a third option?

Remember, this is shadow privatization, and the new contract could easily expel the private element or entrench it.

It is two election cycles away at most (negotiations will probably take a year) - realistically we need to be planning now if we want to extend it or cut it.

Do you think Brampton leans more religious or secular?

Let me start off by saying that we have a number of places of worship. From the Kennedy Road Tabernacle, to the Mormon Church on Bovaird.

That being said, I generally only notice the Mosque on Torbram being filled up regularly, along with the Temple on Goreway. And they attract people from outside of Brampton.

We do celebrate culture here, more than religion. Carabram, etc are more geared towards culture than ritual.

But what is your opinion?

I've been thinking about sonic based weaponry in Battletech.

Theoretically ultrasonics are just as concussive as an autocannon or gauss.

With the energy requirements of a PPC or plasma cannon, producing a sonic shock would theoretically be possible - heck, you could theoretically have a chain of warhead bursts create pretty much the same thing.

Definitely effective against civilian targets, but why doesn't the military employ this against heavier units?

Or is it just something the rulesmakers haven't thought of yet?

Yes, it would be ineffective in some environments, but so is ICE or conventional powered craft.

I think it would be relatively low cost for low intensity warfare, definitely cheaper than expending AC ammo, and superior in terms of depth of magazine.

Its not the same as in the 1980s with the weird dark screen and the spooky voice.

But the alert still serves its function.

How did you react to the test?

https://www.cp24.com/local/toronto/2026/05/04/ontario-reveals-tough-new-rules-to-combat-public-transit-drug-use-special-constables-to-make-arrests/

I'm aware this is aimed at the TTC, but Premiere Ford seems to be hinting it's a universal problem

It seems an odd step while we are legalizing drugs to crack down on them.

As I don't take transit much, do people use Brampton Transit vehicles to do drugs? I've got zero problem with someone getting blasted and using public transit over driving, but this seems to imply active use

I don't mind cloudy days, I can still run power tools. But, I hate trying to plan to do things without having any knowledge of which days I can count on dry ground.

For years, you could check Chicago, and form a decent opinion on the weather we would get about 5 days later. But, this forecasting is terrible.

I have things I can do while the ground is wet, and while the ground is dry. I have a list of crap to have done, but during the week, I try to set up for what I'm doing on the weekend. Its tough to build planters in the rain (the wood gets soaked and doesn't hold anchors as well) but even on a day like today, its ideal to get almost anything done. (Digging, leveling, etc)

Where does everyone get their weather reports, and how accurate do you think they are? Just for the Brampton area, I couldn't care less at how NYC models their forecasts.

I was alone in the house, and cooking a meal. (Chicken breast, risotto, and broccoli)

The cats were the only ones around. I am 100% sure of this because I have surveillance, and I can pull up the times everyone had left.

There has been supernatural activity at my house before, mostly minor things. Voices here and there, things going missing for long periods at a time, stuff moving without explanation, the usual.

All windows were closed. My ventilation system was on bare minimum.

Yet, my attention was drawn to a bar towel I keep on a slider. In front of my eyes, with no one around, and my cats all absent, it flickered as if someone brushed past it. Not a minor movement either, but as if someone had briefly swept it up with their fingers and put it down.

I don't feel threatened or afraid, again, this is kind of a normal ocurrance here. Yet, I find it fascinating that it was almost announced to me, and done in front of my apparance.

What do you think?

I had on a light shirt and grubby pants, and while I worked a bit of a sweat up, it was quite comfortable.

Now that its clouding over I'm glad I could get as much done as I could.

These are the times you get the heavy lifting done, while the crocuses are blooming. Because in about two weeks, we'll be on a roller coaster!
