I constantly see on here how bad of a redemption skymiles are, but that has not been my general experience. I tend to book my travel around the deal, not specific dates which I agree is usually expensive, but if you have flexibility you can book a ton of really awesome deals for very cheap. Some flights I’ve book recently below. All are basic economy and roundtrip.

RDU -> ATL -> BOG 17k $94 roundtrip

RDU -> BOS -> DUB 27k $45 roundtrip

RDU -> LAX -> HKG 34k $54 September

RDU -> LAX -> AKL 57k $57 November

RDU -> JFK-> ARN 23k $45 May

GSO -> JFK -> MXP 27k $45 October

Is the problem with redemptions that people are looking for specific dates?

Yo 25M claramente estadounidense me consideraría bien viajado y he encontrado una buena oferta para ir a Bogotá a finales de abril. He viajado mucho por Europa, Estados Unidos, Marruecos y algunos países de Asia, pero nunca por Sudamérica. Mi familia también está interesada en unirse a mí, pero duda mucho más en ir específicamente a Bogotá a finales de abril. Por lo que he leído, parece que esto es más de prestar atención y no ser tonto y mantener tu teléfono fuera en todo momento o usar joyas llamativas. El hotel que estoy mirando está en el Parque 93, por lo que he leído, una ubicación muy agradable. Estoy buscando ir por unos 4 a 5 días. ¿Es esta solo una situación a la que debería ir solo o convencer a mi familia de que venga conmigo? ¿Hay algún problema de seguridad real aquí, aparte de lo que haría en cualquier ciudad importante de los Estados Unidos?

I’m looking to go to Oregon for my birthday this year in late April but unsure if the weather or snowfall would be to the point of. It recommending a visit. I’m not opposed to spending more time on the coast or out east, but wondering if it’s too early in the year. I’m not afraid of the rain and have the rain gear. Would higher elevation hikes be unthinkable at this point? I went to Washington in late May and encountered some issues with deep snow in the North Cascades but still had a fantastic time.
