Wifey convinced her dad to get a Bolt because he currently commutes 60 miles a day in an SUV that gets about 15 mpg and also would appreciate one pedal driving due to ... the muscles in his leg being surgically removed due to health issues.

Found this 2017 Premier with 55k (new battery at 40-something) for $11k. Cosmetically slightly imperfect (roof is scratched up due to carrying stuff on the rack, I spent a couple hours with a polisher yesterday getting it as good as it's going to get) and the driver's seat had a tear in the leather which we patched with some goop from Amazon. Already installed a 14-50 at their house several years ago to charge our own cars when we visited.

Had the need to drive 200 miles in our 2023 EUV which are through most of the battery so I figured I'd post a capacity/degradation update. 55.9 kwh used, two bars remaining, even assuming we're at the very bottom of the second bar, so 5%, that's a remaining capacity of 58.8 kwh. If it's 10%, that's closer to 62. Torque estimated capacity was 55 kwh which is, obviously, wrong. I always suspected it was on the low side.

tl;dr battery degradation is a non-issue even approaching 200k miles.
