How serious is this? (Details below)

My sweet kitty, Lou, has one of her small bottom teeth loose and irritated. No clue what could’ve caused this.

She’s 10-11 years old and an indoor cat. I have another cat who’s also indoor. They are the same age and have grown up together since kittens. Occasional, normal cat fighting between them as long as I’ve had them, followed by cuddling.

I took her to the vet last week and they gave her an antibiotic shot and told me to check back in a week. Today is a week. The antibiotics seemed to help with swelling the last week, and the pictures are from tonight.

Somebody at the vet mentioned needing to potentially put her under to get the tooth if nothing changes in a week.

Question: What are my options and or what can I say to the vet to get real options? They’re obviously going to tell me they need to put her to sleep to get the tooth, but is that really necessary for this? I’ll do anything for her but I want to avoid putting her to sleep if I can. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
