B2B lead gen agencies promises

As the sole founder of an e-commerce tool I'm funding myself, I spent $8,000 on a highly-rated B2B lead generation company about six months ago. They really talked up their intent data and various marketing channels, but after three months, I only got 12 leads that weren't exactly enthusiastic, and I was hit with an invoice for setup costs. It turns out their contact lists were pulled from who-knows-where, full of emails that bounced, and they didn't even bother following up. Now I'm wasting a ton of time on Upwork freelancers who are even worse at delivering results.

I've looked at my own sales process, and it's solid, my product fits the market well, and I have a great demo video. But without a consistent stream of leads, my growth has plateaued at $10k in monthly recurring revenue.

I've tried LinkedIn ads (spent $2k, got zero sales), webinars (10 people signed up, 2 didn't show), and even podcasts, but it feels like B2B lead generation companies are just a rip-off. Has anyone figured out how to get a steady flow of potential customers without them? My budget is tight, so I need strategies to generate 50-100 marketing qualified leads per month for less than $3,000.
