Anyone at Learners Week 2026?

I’m a junior UXR in attendance until Thursday. If anyone is also here for the conference in San Francisco I would love to meet people in the field. I’m a team of one at a startup so my brain is in full on sponge mode. We could exchange together codes or coordinate for one of the meetups after the main talks. Cheers

hello! we are planning for 30 guests max, no bridesmaids or groomsmen. we know on this budget our wedding won’t be the format everyone expects. But I’m a little worried/curious about some things:

  1. language barrier. Any ideas on how we can best have both families feel included or socialize that doesn’t involve us translating through 3 languages all day? Am i overthinking about how awkward it sounds and it’s fine if our families keep to themselves?

  2. Our preferred venue allows wine and beer only. is that a significant con? We don’t drink but alcohol for guests is just part of the deal, right? are there “safe, catch-all, standard” kinds of wine or beer we should have?

  3. Can anyone with similar guest count/budget share what they’re paying for catering? I feel this is where the meat (haha) of the budget needs to go, if not the alcohol. We haven’t decided on buffet or plated. I’m sure the former is more financially responsible

  4. Entertainment ideas? We were planning on a Spotify playlist on a Bluetooth speaker and some games as a group. our crowd is not big on dancing so looking for other options

5 (not guest related) what the heck are you guys doing for decor? I feel very silly putting money toward that category, but I’m already seeing it come up in things like linen rental or centerpieces, signage etc.
