My brother got into an accident yesterday and his spleen started bleeding badly. He needed two units of blood to stabilize while the OR team was getting prepped for him. (He's banged up but aside from nine broken ribs and a missing spleen, he's okay. He's in pain and will have a tough recovery, but he'll get to recover.)

Without that donated blood, I'd have lost a brother last night. I was thinking of that while he was in surgery, so I thought I'd come here to say thank you to everyone who donates blood, or who wishes they could even if unable like me (tiny veins; Red Cross politely thanked me and asked me not to come back 😆).

People who think about others and do what they can to help their fellow humans are the best. This little Reddit community is full of such people, so again: thank you all.
