New to me crashed 2012 Super Tenere project
I just bought a 2012 Super Tenere! It has 19k miles and no internal mechanical issues. It does need at least a battery, tires, a straight subframe, and all of the front fairings and stuff. It did come with a new front stay bracket and a windscreen and the old broken headlight assembly. Front rim was replaced by the guy I bought it from. I think I got an ok deal on it but there is work to be done. I am not really interested in dumping tons of money into it for a custom build as I have another motorcycle (and a girlfriend) that require some maintenance, I just want to spend what it takes to get the bike riding right again.
Maybe I’m not looking in the right places or looking for the right things, but I can’t seem to find any fairing kits or light assemblies, at least for what I think is a reasonable price. Even anything aftermarket I can’t seem to find easily. Are there good websites to look on besides ebay? Any classifieds that are active? I’m also wondering if there are aftermarket parts that everybody replaces the OEM version of? Maybe upgrades you can’t live without?
(My brother and I are buying adventure bikes and taking them on a trip from the Chicago suburbs area. Any suggestions on where to go would be appreciated, we want to go on a scenic route if possible)
