▲ 42 r/RIVN

Volkswagen US-Holding filed a Form 4 today: 62,889,522 RIVN shares at $15.90 = $999.9M. Trade date Apr 30, filed May 4 at 2:21 PM ET.

This is the scheduled JV tranche, not a discretionary buy — VW only releases capital when Rivian hits specific operational milestones, So the signal here is "Rivian cleared the Q1 milestone bar," not "insider conviction."

VW's total RIVN stake is now ~209.8M shares, representing 15.9% of the float.

Hey r/roastmystartup,

I built Blue Collar Picks. It’s a free feed of SEC Form 4 insider trades. CEOs, CFOs, and directors buying or selling their own stock.

The product

Mobile-first feed. No login.

Views for:

  • Cluster buys
  • Big buys over $500k
  • CEO and CFO purchases

Everything is labeled in plain English, so you don’t need to know SEC codes.

Free weekly recap is the main offer.
There’s also a $19/month daily email with filtered trades sent before market open.

The market

Retail investors with a day job who follow insider activity but don’t want to dig through filings or use tools built for analysts.

The competition

OpenInsider
Free and fast, but painful on mobile and hard to scan.

Finviz, InsiderMonkey, WhaleWisdom
Insider data exists, but it’s buried.

Quiver, Unusual Whales, Capitol Trades
Cleaner UX, but expensive and focused on other signals like Congress or options flow.

My angle

Same public SEC data, just easier to read and faster to scan.

  • Short labels. Compact dollar values. Context on what you’re looking at and why it matters.

Current stage

  • Live and pulling from EDGAR.
  • Pre-revenue.
  • Small free newsletter list.
  • Zero paid subscribers.

Customer strategy

  • SEO around searches like “latest insider buys” or “cluster buys this week.”
  • People land on a clean page, join the weekly recap, and some upgrade to daily.
  • Why me

I’ve been working with EDGAR and insider data for the past few months. This is a tool, not a promise of alpha.

What I want roasted

  • Do you understand what this is in 5 seconds?
  • Does “built for the 99%” work, or does it sound forced?
  • Is $19/month for a daily email reasonable?
  • Would you trust this enough to enter your email?
  • Does this feel meaningfully better than OpenInsider, or just cleaner wrapping?

Be direct. I’d rather hear it now.
