Hi there.

Writing this post in tears so would greatly appreciate any help.

I recently booked a flight with Etihad airways but my cat was denied on the flight bc she got her rabies vaccine before she got her microchip. Our tickets are non refundable so we’ll need to leave her at our home here in Canada for about 20 days before we can come back and try again to take her in July.

We‘re going to try Turkish Airlines next time and I was wondering if anyone has any experience flying with Turkish from Canada and info on everything required?

I‘m going to her the rabies vaccine again and will do the whole import export process again but I was wondering if Turkish had any other specific requirements that are not listed on their website? This is what happened for us with Etihad (info not specified on their website and us being denied two days before our flight :/)

Sorry for the long post but would greatly appreciate some help.

For context, we would be flying from Toronto to Kuwait or Saudi Arabia depending on the air space opening up in Kuwait.

Some other specific questions as well if anyone knows:

1. Does Turkish Airways require the rabies titer test if our destination country doesn’t require it?

2. Is a pet passport required in this case since we are not going into Turkey?

hi everyone! make sure you get your pet microchipped before you get them their rabies vaccine to fly with etihad and make sure the vaccine was done >30 days before the flight but less than 6 months. just putting this here since its not listed on their website and i don’t want others to make the same mistake i did.
