And people complain about glass!

And people complain about glass!

Just saw this on 'What's New' on barefooters.org.

His size 20 feet makes finding shoes impossible, so he explores his volcano barefoot - hence the winning photo. I love the clash between his 'modern' volcano suit and the sheer necessity of his body plus the ruggedness and conditioning he's trained himself to endure.

I'd love to see his soles - to see what volcano/lava rock conditioning does. I've walked on lava rock myself and it's like an eternal field of pumice pads. I imagine his callous to be quite fine, due to the constant excising of unnecessary dead skin. Perhaps the size of the foot gives him advantage as well. They must be pretty strong!

I guess a lot of it is mental conditioning. I wonder if it's a 'Seri Boot' situation? Still, it's inspiring to see, even if it is driven by necessity.
