Hi everyone,

I’m thinking of buying a big piece of land in Northern Ontario. I’m okay taking the risk and not too worried about returns right now.

What I want to understand is the practical side. I’ve never owned land like this before. It’s mostly rural, just trees along a highway. I’m planning to buy it and leave it for a few years, so I don’t want something that needs regular work or upkeep. I know for a fact there are no access issues.

Is there anything I should watch out for before buying?

Are there any ongoing responsibilities like cutting trees/grass, property taxes, or anything else that could turn into work or cost?

Has anyone here owned something similar?

I will be visiting Varanasi for the first time with family. Parents are aged and after a km of walk they get tired, so looking for best and efficient responses. We will be reaching around 8am and leave the next morning same time, so we only have 24 hours. I have some specific questions for my itinerary and 1 night stay:

1. I will be making non-queue bookings for Kashi Vishawanath Temple on their portal to avoid standing for long. Any other better solution?
2. Are mobile phone allowed in temple?
3. Thinking of hiring a boat around 5pm and after boat ride, will be attending aarti from the boat (to avoid long standing lines). Any better alternates?
4. How much does it cost for shared boat ride and personal, both?
5. Any hotels where we can stay and have uninterrupted views of the aarti in the evening and morning?
6. Any must have food suggestions for breakfast, lunch and dinner - 4-5 max. Won’t be able to cover many things in one day.
7. Anything else I should be careful of or keep in mind while visiting with family or elderly parents?

Budget is not the issue, making a good one day trip for family is priority.
