My bullmastiff pit mix is 6 years old. He’s neutered however sometimes when he gets really excited (ex. Me coming home after being gone all day) he’ll start humping the air then immediately starts gagging HORRIBLY! I try to calm him down so it usually doesn’t last very long but it worries me.

I’ve noticed twice he’s done this while sleeping, starts shaking like he’s humping, then gags, thankfully it’s not as bad while he’s sleeping.

Is this normal??
