Struggling to get interviews as a fresher – need advice
Finding a job as a fresher is honestly much harder than I expected. Over the past weeks, I’ve applied to 50+ companies but received only one callback, and that was for a machine test.
I have a B.Tech in IT with a good CGPA, along with a certification in Data Science and Generative AI. I’ve also completed a few capstone projects and two internships. I’ve revised my resume multiple times and tailored it with keywords based on job descriptions, but I’m still not getting interview calls.
My university had decent placement opportunities, but I skipped them because I was focused on pursuing higher studies abroad. I ended up spending about 1.5 years on that plan, but it didn’t work out. Now that I’ve started actively job hunting, I’m finding it really difficult to break in.
Recently, I came across third-party recruitment agencies. I always assumed most of them were scams, but I’ve seen some people getting placed through them—though not in my field or location.
Has anyone here had genuine experience with my current situation ? Are they worth trying, or should I avoid them?
Also open to any suggestions on how to improve my chances of getting interview calls.
