I just have a simple question regarding M24s, and particularly SIG barreled M24s. When did SIG move towards the stepped barrel design? what is the earliest recorded example of a SIG barrelled M24 with a barrel step?

I had bought this mosin 91/30 a while ago as a project. When I got it I found out it was a Finn capture (boxed SA marked) but this stock finish is unlike I've ever seen before. Can anyone tell me if it's original? And if so, what finish was used?
