I was just wondering what kind of experiences anybody had when getting put on progesterone to stop a prolonged period? I had been spotting for 3 weeks and when I finally got my period it was so heavy and the worst one I’ve had in years, when it slowed down I was still spotting for days after and ended up bleeding for over a month. My doctor put me on a 5 day cycle of progesterone to stop the continuous shedding of the lining but should I expect to bleed again after I’m done with the medication? PCOS is so frustrating to live with and I’m trying to avoid actually being on birth control.
