Hello! Looking for photos or articles about the older St Joe County Public library kid areas

Hello! I'm Seashore and I used to live in the South Bend area. My best friend is a librarian and recently I mentioned casually about how the kid areas used to be all done up in very fun and cool ways. I remember the Main library had a travel theme, with trains you could read in and old fashioned luggage by the entrance. And the one I usually went to had a more nature theme, with a big hollow tree and a fake brook with stepping stones and a bridge.

Since she really wanted to know more, I set about trying to find information and ran up against a few dead ends. I found article in the South Bend Tribune from November 2001 which seemed to be about this refurbishment, but I couldn't get in without a subscription service. I found the library on youtube, but the walk through videos were from a recent refurshment that had stripped all of that away. My relatives and family friends memories are at best spotty, and I don't think we took any photos. 2001 means no video anyway.

If anyone here has any memories, photos, videos, or scans of the Tribune article, I would be INCREDIBLY grateful. I always loved those libraries and measure up other ones I go to against them. Also being al librarian she can use it to work on her own library in the future so we can get some of that joy back into the library.

Thank you so much for at least reading this.
