I live on Tsushima Island. Here is how to actually enjoy your trip without getting stranded!

Hi everyone!

I live on Tsushima Island and have been meeting many amazing Ghost of Tsushima fans lately. It’s been great to see so many people traveling all the way to this remote island!

However, I’ve noticed a common problem: Many visitors arrive without a solid transportation plan and end up missing out on the best spots because they realize too late how big the island is.

My #1 advice: You absolutely need a rental car.

While there is a public bus system and it's affordable, it is very difficult to visit iconic spots like Kaneda Castle (Kaneda-no-jo) or Komoda Beach within a limited time using only buses. These locations are remote, and bus schedules don't always align with a traveler’s itinerary.

Tsushima is beautiful and I want you to experience everything it has to offer—from the history to the nature—without the stress of missing the last bus!

If you have any questions about logistics, the best spots to visit, or local life, please feel free to ask me anything. I’m also a private guide here, so I’m happy to help you make the most of your journey!

Safe travels!
