4 weeks post minor fracture

Hello everyone! Four weeks ago I minorly fractured my ankle while twisting it during a run. It wasn’t painful, but I was training for a marathon so I still went to the doctor to get clarity. Even on the x-ray, it was very unclear if there was much of anything there so the doctor told me to wear the boot for about a week, then slowly transition out of it and take the process by feel. I am now four weeks post fracture and I want to know when is a good time to start jogging slowly again/what others experience has been.

This past week I raced a 5K because I felt fine enough to do so and I had already signed up prior to fracture. yesterday I jogged a couple miles to see how it felt and it didn’t hurt. There’s just stiffness around my joint when I stretch it and can feel where the fracture is, but none of this when i walk/jog/stairmaster. I wear a brace every day to keep it immobilized, and try to never overextend it because that seems to be where any discomfort would be. This entire process hasn’t been painful so I’m just confused as when would be a good time to re-introduce jogging again I want to get insight on others experience.

As a disclaimer, when I went to the ortho originally she didn’t think this was anything severe and gave me exercises to do two weeks post fracture and told me I didn’t really need to come back in unless I felt as though it worsened and I couldn’t bear weight on the foot. She told me to dip my toe in to jogging again 3 to 4 weeks post fracture to see how it was feeling, so I don’t really feel the need to spend the money again going back and that’s why I came here for advice.
