Hard truth for Gen Z

You’re fucked.

Insane student debt, weak wages, rent taking over half your paycheck, and houses that cost way more than what your parents paid on similar salaries.

The whole "go to college, get a job, buy a house, have a family" thing your parents and society told you your whole life is basically dead for most of you.

A lot of us are just gonna rent forever. If we’re even lucky enough that AI doesn’t replace our jobs first.

Something is broken, and we all know what it is. But nobody dares to raise it. The youth protests and chaos that swept multiple countries in late 2025 were just a hint of what’s coming in the West.

Yeah, some people will still tell you: “just work harder.” "you're just too lazy". Even if you're already working two jobs, doing some side hustles, and putting your mental health on the line.

Do we really have a future here in Canada?

As a man in my 30s, I'm starting to think if Canada is not heading into a wall right now.

Everything is getting expensive and out of reach.

When real estate becomes the main source of growth for a country, something has been broken.

I'm not looking for a luxury life. Just a decent one with my childs. A life where I can have a place to live, a stable job that actually pays enough to cover mortgage, food, car and some little fun times.

Am I the only one in this situation ?
