Center console lighting and radio doesn't work
Hey so somethings been bugging me. I just got a old donor 2001 is300 I'm gonna be fixing up here for my turbo build upgrading and refreshing everything for boost and performance. Something bugging though when I got the car my illumination in the car doesn't work and neither does the radio BUT the gauge cluster light does work which is werid. Cigarette lighter works. The fans do turn on. Idk if the A/C works or not cars pretty worn down so haven't really gotta a chance to test yet.
I thought maybe it could be the radio or lighting itself but I have a 2005 is300 that I daily so I took out the radio tried in the 2005 and radio and lighting worked fine in there so obviously it must be a wiring issue maybe a fuse issue but I kind of doubt it since the gauge cluster light works but I could be wrong. Anyone have any idea what it could be.
P.S. So to clarify the radio unit AND back lights work BUT does not work in the 2001 car but will work in the 2005 car, the climate control knobs work and turn on but the back lights do not turn on, and the gauge selector light also do not light up. So it's gotta be a 12V or an illumination wire (maybe?). I do not understand car electronics so some ideas would be appreciated. Gauge cluster does light up and work but it's got ugly blue LEDs which ill be changing back to OEM amber again and one of them flickers alot.
I do plan on selling my 2005 in the future once I get this thing turbo cleaned up and running good. Just an FYI so it's like a restoration project then eventually will take over as my main IS300.
