New Here. Need help! Please share your thoughts.

Hey guys!

25M, shifting to Mumbai for a job. I don't know anyone in the city and need guidance on a few things:

  1. How to find flats!? I tried Nobroker but I am not getting anything good. My office is in Kurla West, which locality should I consider? My budget is 20-25k, for a 1bhk/1rk. Or should I go for a single room pg?

  2. Should I bring a 2 wheeler with me? Someone told me that I won't be able to use it as the next 4 months will see very heavy rainfall. But I think I can use it for the office commute or other day to day tasks. Will a raincoat be of any use?

  3. I have to shift in the first week of June and I am getting accommodation for a few days from my company. So please help me out on the flat part, if you have any broker numbers, please share it.

  4. Another person told me to stay in Thane and take the local train to reach the office daily as it will be very cheaper for me. Should I?

  5. What all things should I bring with me as I am visiting the city for the first time?

  6. And please share your experiences, how can I avoid being scammed.

Hey guys!

I need your opinion on this. Actually I work for a bank and I might be transferred to Latur/Ahilyanagar in the coming months. I am from MP and I don't know Marathi, I can understand the language but not sure how much time, it'll take to be a fluent speaker. And I'll be dealing with rural customers mostly.

I am a single child and my father is in the Army. I have no problem with the location but I am a bit concerned about my security, I have seen a few videos on the internet of people getting beaten up for not speaking marathi. I know not everyone is like those people and I have some really good friends from Maharashtra, who are very welcoming and respectful. But they don't live in Latur/Ahilyanagar.

So should I be worried?

I don't mean any disrespect to the people of Maharashtra or the Marathi language. I have full respect for the place, people and culture. I will try to learn the language soon.

But the thing is that the transfer is not in my control and I cannot leave my job. Since my father is getting old and being a single child, I have to be financially responsible for my family.
