What's the craziest thing you've seen in Charleston?
Saw this on r/nova and figured people here have seen a lot of crazy things. Being a native I've seen a lot.
Everybody has seen something strange on the roads here but I figured I'd go school related.
My senior year 2nd semester of HS we had MTV MADE filming on our campus for 3 months so this little 14 year old freshman could be "made" into a hip hop dancer so he could perform at a school-wide pep rally, the Westboro Baptist Church (the weird Kansas folks) picketed at our HS one day during school dismissal, and two of the senior class clowns were banned from graduation for posting wanted pics of an assistant principal arrested for a DUI. They showed up anyway.
What's the craziest thing you've seen?
I was at a local gym in Charleston, SC going about my day watching the Vatican live stream then it showed the white smoke and everything suddenly flipped to the Vatican on the major channels (ABC, NBC, CBS).
I then went to my local coffee shop and saw the news on EWTN's live stream while texting my Catholic group chat everything about the new Pope.
What about you?
Saw this on the r/CFB page and figured I’d bring it up here. Being a Charleston fan we basically don’t have any media that covers us full-time at all so basically all we have is one podcast and they cover everything well.
But a lot of the SC media forgets we exist at all outside mid-week college baseball wins and when we make a NCAA tournament.
What about your school?
I'm in Charleston, SC (home of the USL Battery) and for the Paraguay match a local restaurant is hosting a watch party in the local visitor's center bus shed with a giant screen. But they are charging $35 just to get in without parking, food or drink, and an eye-popping $163 for VIP with their own viewing area, all you can drink and oysters.
They haven't announced anything for the other two group matches yet. What about your city?
