I just got the Trekology UL80 Ultralight inflatable mat and it has a lot going for it - great price, lightweight, packs up super small, inflates quickly with a compact pump, comfortable... But noisy as heck. Any time I move it has an opinion.

Has anyone had a similar experience and found a viable solution? I was thinking of covering it with a lightweight sleeping bag liner to see if that cuts down on the friction and thus noise.

Or is it not worth the effort and I should replace it? If that's the case, I'm open to suggestions of comparable, quieter items.

I'm an ASM for a family troop contingent at this summer's Jambo. I am equal parts excited and clueless. I don't know what to expect at all - most of my scouting experience so far has been as a Cub Master, plus one trek at Northern Tier as an adult advisor. I'm getting Wood Badge trained in June, so I will be slightly less green by the time Jambo rolls around.

I would love insight from anyone who has been as an adult leader - what was a typical day like? How much did you pack? Any must haves or hacks to recommend? Any experiences not to miss? Any tips in general?
