We got fun summer neons at home…my first polish mixing success!
So, I’ve been into indie/boutique polish for about a year now, and have amassed a good collection in all my enthusiasm. I’m now trying to be really mindful about what I add to my collection, so on a no/low buy. I was about to drop an order for my usual base and topcoat and was soo tempted by some of the fun neon colours, especially a particular bright fuschia/coral that my fave brand does. Then I remembered I had some bright drugstore polishes that I had picked up ages ago as a set but never used. The left hand swatch was close to the polish I had my eye on, but just a bit too orange and not great on my skin tone. I decided to try adding some of the magenta, and was able to make a lovely bright coral colour. It might not be quite as neon as the polish I had my eye on, and I will have to see how it wears, but it definitely scratches the itch, is a colour I’m much more likely to wear than the orange, and has saved me breaking my no-buy for a while longer! I do love this little hobby 😁
