I was hit by a car while in a crosswalk back in December. The driver ran a red light. I got a lawyer and they demanded the max amount his policy is for: $100,000. His insurance is sending the check and they’re asking me to sign something where I won’t go after any more money from him.

Just one of my medical bills from the hospital is $92,000. PT so far is $5,000. I’ve gotten nerve blocks, seen so many doctors, and I don’t know what the final number is going to be. Definitely over $100,000 though. Is this it? Someone else made a mistake and now I’m in medical debt on my own? There’s nothing else my lawyer can do?

Everyone said I wouldn’t have to pay for my bills so I wasn’t expecting this outcome.

Edit: the accident was in Las Vegas, NV.
