can't decide between low-cut hiking shoes
I need some advice on which hiking shoes to go with (Yes, I've tried them all on and jumped around the store for a good hour in each pair).
I'll be backpacking Italy, Slovenia & Croatia from Jun-Sept. Most days will consist of a several hours of hiking (varied terrain, from flat dry trails to steep wet scrambles), swimming at lakes, wandering the towns/cities, and long train rides. I need shoes comfy enough to handle all that (+ city walking) with a backpack, technical enough for sketchier hikes, and breathable enough for summer weather (I won't have another pair). Oh, and I'm looking at low-cut only. I would rather a twisted ankle than a the feeling of a boot.
I'm torn between:
-Salewa Wildfire 2 or Mountain Trainer Lite
-Merrel Moab 3
-Scarpa Mojito
-La Sportiva TX4
-Salomon X-Alp Suede
-Arc'teryx Konseal LT
Any opinions on any of these? Hard no's? Important bits to consider?
