Downgraded to Coach from a Paid First Class Seat
I had a paid first class ticket on a flight. When I attempted to board the flight for seat 2a, I was denied boarding. I was told that I had no seat on the plane, even though I had a boarding pass on my phone for seat 2a in first class. The entire plane then proceeded to board ahead of me. At the last moment before the flight was closed I was given a seat in coach. I expressed that I need a compensation for this and the gate agent said that that was out of their hands and they couldn’t do anything about it at that time. I am a long time American Airlines customer and was flying for business for my employer, which is a fortune 200 company and partner of American Airlines. As an AAdvantage Platinum Pro status holder, I should’ve been the last person to have their seat downgraded for whatever reason. As I boarded the plane, I noticed that a very casually dressed millennial was in seat 2a. Not an airline employee or an air marshal I would say. I guess AAdvantage Platinum Pro doesn’t mean shit.
