The unexplained fried chicken is one of my favorite jokes in the entire series
Hawkeye is eating the fried chicken while Colonel Potter is on the radio with smiling Jack.
BJ comes in and ask him where he got it
Hawkeye tells him “the petrified forest”
BJ asks if they’re still open.
And that’s it.
We never find out where this delicious looking fried chicken came from.
It’s clearly the best food that’s been in that camp ever.
And there’s no reference to it ever again.
I love it so much
I’ve always thought it was from the actual series crew lunch than day and Alan Alda just brought it with him and ate it during the scene.
