Mesa Village Apartments

Had anyone had experience with the Mesa Village Apartments in Clairemont Mesa? I have seen mixed reviews online so I was curious if they were actually good or bad?

Thank you!!

I truly feel stuck at a crossroads here. And by no means am I ignoring what's going on in the world, in fact, I am hyper aware of it.

But I recently just got an offer to work in San Diego (where I am originally from). Last year I nearly had the apartment if my dreams in LA. But my job offered me more money to stay and so I did plus I did not have the job despite having the apartment ready to go.

This year however, I got the job. 65k in SanDiego. I was excited. Very much so. Until I had to do the apartment hunt. And I also of course checked to see how much my money would get me living there, lifestyle and living wise. While I know on reddit, you basically cant exist in major cities on less than 100k, people do. So I was hopeful.

However, dare I say they may have been right. I have two dogs and truly do not want to roommate. It is not an option for me. I am moving out to be alone, and coming from a dysfunctional home. I want my own space finally. But the only apartments I have gotten have been completely out of my budget 1500, quickly turned to 1700-1800. And what is the point of moving out just to essentially work to barely afford to exist? I know many do, but it is simply not a strong enough reason for me. So I desperately want to keep my rent under 1700 at the very least.

But thats proving hard. As a single female 26 years old, my saftey is important to me. I do not want to find myself in a poor situation just because the rent is cheap. I also do not have a car, nor do I have the means to get one. I will have to save for it while I am there so I will be on public transport.

With that said, this job offers many benefits, 401k, matching at 3% 10 holiday and vacation days and more.

My current job counter offered at 70k with 5 vacation days and 2 remote days a month. I have up and downs at this job but genuinely I dont hate it. Its all been emotional since me and my boss are the same age nearly. But we still go on trips and get coffee together. I also wouldnt have to get a car. And my job gives free food.

But I have today to make my decision. Am I staying or going. I want to go because california has ALWAYS been a goal of mine to get back to. Its something that I keep getting close to and to let it go seems like wasting an opportunity I wont get back.

But also, staying home isnt an option. My mental is truly taking a toll here.

I dont want to be stuck another year doing the same thing. I want to grow and keep getting better. But I also do not want to put myself in a bad situation either.

Goal wise: I just want to have a lot of money and travel the world, with my dogs and be comfortable. I do not plan on having kids, and I prefer a condo over a house. I also eventually want to start a business. I do not know if any of that helps.

Hi Everyone,

I am about to sign a lease on this apartment complex and I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with them within the past few months? I 26 (F) am coming from NYC with my two dogs. And currently I do not have a car. So it is important that the area is dog friendly, walkable(ish) and easy to get to my job that I will be starting.

My new job is going to be in Kearny Mesa, so since I dont have a car yet, I will need to be near public transportation. This apartment is only a 40min ride on public transport (which coming from NYC im used to 45minutes so I dont mind at all). The other apartments that I found felt sketchier and also were an 1hr & 30 minutes from my job which is too far out.

With that said, since I am a single female, I wanted to know from other women in the area too how safe they felt, things I should look out for, and if I should sign the lease at all. To be fair, I do have a smaller budget as well. $1600, so I also know my options are not vast at the moment.

Its a one bedroom, one bathroom at that.

Also, for the financial gurus, I will be making 65k at my new job as well. I know reddit says you cannot exist in San Diego under 100k, but until I can get a job thats paying that, I have to make due lol. So I would love to know those who are making money in the 55-70k range and living in San Diego as well!

Any and all tips are very much appreciated!

Thank you!!
