I noticed at our local Hollywood Vibe (Burlingame/SF) that there were teams coming from Utah and Arizona even though they have closer tour stops (e.g., Layton UT, Glendale AZ). I also see Project 21 traveling out of state despite being quite close to the tour stops for all of the convention competitions they attend.
Do any of your studios do this, and if so, why? I know you get to compete against different teams this way, but isn't that what nationals is for? (Note: this included small/large group routines, not just soloists or dancers taking advantage of convention scholarships by attending multiple HV tour stops)
Personally, I'm glad we don't have to spend the extra time/money for our studio!
