April 30 at Orange County Main Library - Executive Function 102: Supporting Your Brain in a Time-Obsessed World
Executive Function 102 takes a deeper look at the everyday challenges many adults face with time, attention, accountability, and follow-through. We’ll explore why executive functioning skills are essential yet often hard to access, how American work culture has shaped our expectations around time, and why many adults struggle to sense, estimate, and plan time effectively.
We’ll challenge the idea that time is something we can control and instead focus on how we relate to it. Along the way, we’ll unpack why “time management” struggles are often really about distraction, energy, unclear expectations, and competing demands, and we'll take a compassionate look at what’s lurking underneath procrastination.
Participants will learn practical, self-compassionate approaches to improve focus, reduce friction, and move tasks forward, along with key reminders they can return to when things feel sticky.
