Mauron-Plöermel greewway France
On paper, this rare greenway in rural Brittany, France, has everything going for it. The surface is smooth—but strangely sticky—and, most importantly, the path hasn't been cleared of its leaf litter. Three-quarters of the way under the trees, with a layer of leaf litter between 1 cm and 5 mm thick. The sweepers haven't been brushing, unlike what you see, for example, near Cluny. The local roads all around have better surfaces, and I'm not tempted despite the exceptional nature of this greenway, which doesn't run alongside any roads. I had to turn back faced with this imposed challenge—pushing downhill to reach 15 km/h—goodbye to my planned restaurant in Ploërmel, back to Rennes. A good workout, perhaps to be tested again in the summer, when the path has been cleaned... Good news Exile mudflaps were perfect...
