Hello everyone,

I am doing some research on obtaining a EU permanent residency as I might be moving to Spain soon.

I am a non EU citizen and would be living in Spain, I would be paying taxes in Spain as well as holding health insurance and my family would be living there. On other hand, I would be on 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off rooster outside of Spain.

Reading the rules strictly, this would prevent me for applying for EU permanent residency after 5 years, as I will be spending more than 10 months in those 5 years outside of the country.

Does anyone has experience with this? Is there exception to this rule as I would have a "local" (Spanish) contract with the Spanish company that will do annex to send me to other countries for work? Is there pathway for me to obtain permanent residency or for my family?

*On my rooster I would be working in non-EU countries

I am currently considering moving to Spain for a job opportunity, and I have no limitation on where I can live.

We are currently looking at Valencia as coastline is rather important to my wife. It doesnt have to be Valencia but should be somewhat close to coastline, 30-45min drive is acceptable as well.

As a family of four, we would prefer to have access to daycare (soon school) and pediatric practice. Safety is important but based on my previous visits to Spain, not real worried on that front but would be good to get any tips.

We dont have preference on house vs. apartment. Somewhat mid range place would be best, we dont really like city center's and that kind of stuff, looking for more peaceful environment. Rent in range of somewhat 600-1000 EUR is acceptable (but frankly have no idea on rent prices in Spain).

We would really appreciate any suggestions we could get, so thanks in advance.

I would appreciate any inputs, comments or otherwise about Maxam, especially in the West Africa region.
Has anyone had experience working for them? How is the culture and in general how is working on some of those sites (Luolo, Lafigue etc).
