How to explain to the current gen how iconic The Dirty Picture's interval block was in the theatres back in 2011- filled with hoots, whistles and claps! A film that changed so much for how roles of actresses are written in Bollywood post 2010s. The scene kinda sealed Vidya's national award imo.

And the habit of mid choreography and performance of classical dance numbers in contemporary Indian cinema continues with Bhooth Bangla! Why don't they hire actual trained classical dancers to choreograph these numbers? And maybe even cast them as the main dancer in these songs!

O Ri Saawariya from Bhooth Bangla. Can't believe it is from the same music director who created an iconic classical number like Ami Je Tomar. Jaaved Ali's voice just doesn't suit imo. It starts sounding like Srivalli in the middle. Shreya is also criminally wasted.

Was revisiting twinkle twinkle from The Dirty Picture. A very 80s quirky composition by Vishal-Shekhar, sung by Shreya Ghoshal yet so different from Ooh Lala despite being in the same space. Thanks to the lyrics, no wonder they didn't keep this in an already controversial film lol
