What if the bering land bridge was never a thing?

The bering land bridge (Alternatively named Beringia) was a huge, connective sub continent stretching up to 1.6 million square kilometers. It acted as a evolutionary highway, transporting horses and camels into the old world, while transporting mammoths, bison, true cats, and other fauna into the new world. But what if it never existed in the first place? How would specifically the new world handle being able to keep to itself for much longer? How much longer could the late miocene fauna (like borophagus, Moropus, Arctodus, Homotherium, etc.) Hold on?

What if the world actually WAS flat?

Now, I'm not saying that I do believe the earth is flat. I'm just wondering: WHAT IF the earth actually WAS flat and they'd faked it all. If we did find out about it somehow, how would we react? What would our government's even have to say to defend themselves?

How angry would we actually be? The world being flat would literally shatter the entire framework of what scientists have been constructing for centuries. And even more so, how would things unravel if they actually DID find things across the ice wall? How crazy would people get?
