Male Father pigeon biting and pecking one of his own squabs
I have a pair that have 2 squabs - for some time in my flock there was an eye infection that was passed bird to bird. I have managed to curb and cure all birds except the two squabs of the pair i mentioned - they got it from their father most likely who is cured now. I have been treating the squabs daily since more than 2 weeeks now with antibiotic eye drops and wiping their eyes clean with a warm clean cotton guaze
Now - both the parents take turns in feeding the squabs normally but today morning as i write this post - the father pigeon suddenly started chasing and pecking on of the smaller squabs while he seems okay arouns the other squab.
Why are they behaving like this ?
Plz NOTE - i dont know how to feed squabs and given my busy job schedule i doubt i can learn it. Shall i give the squabs away ? And if i do, will anyone except them or will they just let them wither and die ?
I am worried about taking the right decision. Plz advise
