Most plastic surgery regrets in Korea happen before the surgery

Hi! we’re Sonnect, a medical tourism company that helps international patients navigate clinics in Korea.

Not here to promote (we know the rules), just wanted to share something we keep seeing over and over again.

A lot of patients assume the biggest risks happen during surgery.
But from what we’ve observed, most regrets actually happen before they even get on the plane.

A few patterns we’ve noticed:

• Choosing a clinic based on Instagram photos alone
• Not realizing how much prices can vary depending on how you inquire
• Assuming all aftercare is included (it often isn’t)
• Booking the first clinic they talk to without comparing options
• Underestimating how hard it is to navigate everything in a different country

We’ve also seen cases where patients were happy with the surgery itself, but stressed about everything around it: communication, logistics, recovery support.

Curious for those who’ve gone through it:
What do you think matters most before choosing a clinic?
