Here we go…
First wear on the Wickett & Craig Double Stuffed Tan “Rough Cut” I don’t say this lightly, but this is my third StationMaster and it’s not even close, Nick’s engineers are the most comfortable out of the box.
Maybe it’s just the last working better with my foot compared to other makers, but they really stand out. I’ve got custom pairs from a Nashville maker you can probably figure out that are super comfortable right out of the box, but at nearly double the price, they’re not something I’m going to beat up on a construction site and they’re not really built for that kind of use anyway.
The other two brands I wear, one PNW and the other out of Japan, are nice, but they just don’t feel as comfortable right away.
About two hours into the day and I can already tell these are going to break in easier than the Wickett & Craig DS Natural I wore a few years ago for the Thunderdome. Not sure if the “rough cut” has a softer temper or if it’s just how it’s finished/processed but it definitely feels a bit less stiff. Or my feet are just tougher than they were a few years ago. 🤷🏻♂️
