This police officer was brutalizing the citizens of Melvindale and the surrounding areas for years and the city kept him because he brought in money from writing tickets.

I wonder if those elected officials actually understand the consequences of being ticketed as a low income citizen, or maybe they just don't care and only now allowed him to be terminated because of the publicity.

This type of policing is the opposite of public safety, and its only function is to extract funds from the community to avoid having to raise taxes and risk being unpopular in an election.

That is true corruption.
